What is Lidocaine HCl?
First,Lidocaine HCl is a potent local anesthetic and antiarrhythmic agent. It is widely utilized for various types of anesthesia, including infiltration, epidural, and surface anesthesia (notably in thoracoscopy or abdominal surgeries for mucosal anesthesia), as well as nerve conduction blocks.
Second,Lidocaine HCl is classified as an amide local anesthetic.
As the dosage increases, both its efficacy and toxicity rise, demonstrating anticonvulsive properties at sub-toxic plasma concentrations;
At blood concentrations exceeding 5 μg/ml, convulsions may occur.
